Life WAS fine as an astronaut. You had just finished training when you were shoved in a rocket with two other people and blasted off to the end of the universe. With a radio as your only connection to home, you and your team are fighting to survive in the cold vacuum of space. Using the boosters to get yourself turned around and headed back to Earth, you do maintenance and exploration while out among the stars.
