Ender's Battleroom
Ender Wiggin was a young boy taken to train to become a military commander at the young age of 8. He lives in a world where the Earth was almost destroyed by an alien civilization Earth authorities are now attempting to eliminate. His siblings are geniuses who have major issues and life hasn't always been easy for Ender. Battle School gives him a change to grow and become a leader the likes of which the world had never seen and won't be prepared to deal with. He inspires loyalty in everyone he encounters and pushes himself harder than anyone else. In the end scene, Ender has to pass a final test where, with the help of fellow students he has helped train, they must defeat a computer simulation of an enemy battle where nothing is impossible. His breathing is described as being "heavy in his own ears" and the "sounds of his commanders relaying his orders to their lieutenants cuts through his racing thoughts". A possible theme would be: Age doesn't determine ability. All the "commanders" and "lieutenants" are under the age of 18 while the adults watch from above.
